Job cuts across the media industry grew by 20 per cent last year.

A new study has found digital, broadcast and print news all reported drops in 2022.

Many U.S. companies were behind the trend, including CNN and The Washington Post.

It reflects a growing trend where advertising revenue slumps and concerns over a global recession.

In some good news though, there were five per cent less jobs lost last year across the entire media sector.
