Mayor and government officials killed in mass shooting in Mexico

At least 18 people were killed and three others injured in a Mexican city

An armed group killed the mayor of San Miguel Totolapan and most of the victims were members of the local government.

The armed group wore ski masks and drove two SUVs.

According to multiple local media reports, the massacre happened on Wednesday afternoon when the group opened fire at the city hall

Though there was no official confirmation on the death toll, local media reports and eyewitnesses claimed bodies of at least 18 people have been recovered from the incident site.

Defense Ministry agents, along with state and local police, transferred the injured to local hospitals.
