The Kremlin has taken aim at the West after multiple countries imposed sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine

The Kremlin hit back at western sanctions by imposing export bans on a string of products until the end of 2022.

The ban covers exports of things like telecoms, medical, vehicle, agricultural, and electrical equipment.

The economy ministry says further measures could include restricting foreign ships from Russian ports.

In a statement, the ministry stated that “these measures are a logical response to those imposed on Russia.”

Moscow has got Western countries in its sights and the Kremlin wants to hurt other economies, just as they hurt Russia.

  • About 48 countries will be affected, including the US and the EU.
  • The export ban includes more than 200 products.
  • The measures will last until the end of the year.

Western governments have imposed a string of sanctions on Russia, notably on buying oil.

Vladimir Putin continues to warn the rest of the world that it isn’t just fuel prices that will rise so too will global food prices.
