King Charles says Britain and Germany will ‘stand together with Ukraine’ against Russia’s aggression.

The King has addressed a banquet in Berlin on his first state visit since the start of his reign.

His Majesty paid tribute to Germany’s “extraordinary generosity” in hosting over a million Ukrainian refugees.

“We stand side-by-side in protecting and advancing our shared democratic values,” he said.

“This is epitomised so clearly today as we stand together with Ukraine in defence of freedom and sovereignty in the face of unprovoked aggression.”

During the visit, the King will head to the Presidential Palace.

He will learn more about Germany’s sustainability targets and hear about the support Germany is providing to Ukraine.

The King is also set to address the German parliament, speaking in both English and German.
