King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at Joint Base Andrews around 2:30pm ET and proceeded to the White House for a meeting with President Donald Trump.

The couple was welcomed by US chief of protocol Monica Crowley and UK ambassador to the U.S., Christian Turner.

Queen Camilla showcased a brooch combining the US stars and stripes with the Union flag as they exited the plane.

During the visit, the couple will address Congress, attend a state dinner, and visit New York City.

The trip has become complicated by political tensions between the U.S. and UK regarding the US-Israeli conflict, prompting criticism from Trump.

The recent shooting at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, where officials were considered targets, has raised additional security concerns.

Despite this, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the visit would proceed as planned, expressing gratitude to those ensuring its continuity.

The King and Queen will have a private tea with Trump and First Lady Melania Trump upon arrival in D.C.

The 77-year-old monarch will be addressing Congress for only the second time in history during this visit.
