Kanye West is set to buy right-wing platform ‘Parler’ after being blocked from other mainstream social networks
KANYE WEST- American Rapper Kanye West, or also referred to as ‘Ye’ has announced he is buying right-wing platform ‘Parler’.
Parler is used mainly by U.S. conservatives, and deems itself a “free speech” alternative.
The chief executive of Parler’s parent company, Parlement Technologies was quick to commend the announcement.
Parler, founded back in 2018, sits inline with other far-right platforms like Trump’s Truth Social.
Numerous tech giants like Apple, Amazon and Google have removed Parler from their services because of its far-right beliefs.
No further details have been released about the deal, but it will be finalised by the end of the year.
It follows Kanye West being widely condemned for numerous controversial remarks.
The comments regard his former wife Kim Kardashian, their children, the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement and the Jewish community.
Controversial George Flloyd remarks
It comes as Ye stares down the barrel at a possible lawsuit from George Flloyd’s family after making insensitive comments about his cause of death.
Civil rights attorney, Lee Merritt is representing the Flloyd family and says they’re considering legal action.
He said on a Podcast that Flloyd didn’t die by Police brutality to the neck but instead from the drug Fentanyl.
During the trial, it was confirmed that Former Police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on Flloyd’s neck, which ultimately led to his death.
