A Judge in Southern India has ruled a woman wore ‘provocative’ clothing, effectively dismissing her sexual assault complaint.

The district court Judge in Kerala state made the comments while granting bail to a 74-year-old man, accused of sexual harassment and assault.

He has not been formally charged.

Photos were produced during the man’s bail application, showing the woman wearing provocative dresses.

The Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, has condemned the ruling and urged the Kerala High Court to take up the case.
