North Korea has launched a ballistic missile between the Korean peninsula and Japan.

Japan ordered residents of its northern island, Hokkaido, to take shelter as a precaution.

Details about the flight time have not yet been revealed, but it’s believed an intermediate to long-range missile was fired.
