A gunman has been shot and killed by authorities in Tel Aviv after an intense standoff

The primary target of tonight’s terror attack in Tel Aviv was a popular bar on one of the busiest and most central streets in the city.

Images of the deceased gunman have been quick to surface online, with Twitter users sharing close ups of the man shot dead by forces.

The victims have now been identified as two males in their thirties.

Doctors have managed to stabilise four of the individuals most seriously wounded.

Earlier reports suggested that one remains in critical condition while the other three are in serious condition.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has been debriefed at the nation’s military headquarters in Tel Aviv.

It was agreed to continue directing large-scale reinforcements to Tel Aviv.
