Israel and Gaza in state of fear as conflict erupts

Israel and Gaza find themselves engulfed in fear and uncertainty as a new conflict erupts in the region.

Tensions that have smoldered for years have now flared into a full-blown crisis, leaving both sides on edge.

The conflict, which escalated rapidly, has its roots in long-standing political and territorial disputes. As rockets streak across the sky and sirens blare in both Israeli cities and Gaza, civilians on both sides are gripped by fear, seeking shelter and safety.

The international community has expressed deep concern over the situation, calling for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations. Diplomatic efforts are underway, with world leaders urging restraint and a de-escalation of hostilities.

As world leaders condemned the attacks — and questions arose about how Israeli intelligence had been so surprised — ordinary citizens tried to make sense of what was happening.

Schools in Israel will also be closed on Sunday, the country’s education ministry announced.
