Is this the beginning of a new cold war?

The world’s longest known submarine is going to belong to Russia and there’s fresh concerns for a new cold war

The Belgorod was turned over to the Russian Navy earlier this month.

Experts say its design can accommodate the world’s first nuclear-armed stealth torpedoes and equipment for intelligence gathering.

According to a report from CNN, they’re being designed to be launched from hundreds of miles away and to sneak past coastal defences by traveling along the sea floor.

New capabilities in the next decade could set the stage for a return to scenes of the Cold War under the ocean, with US and Russian subs tracking and hunting each other.
