Instagram set to take on Tik-Tok

Facebook Inc. will begin testing ads on its Instagram ‘Reels’ feature as the social media giant moves to monetise the content.

Instagram’s Reels feature was launched in 2020 as the social media platform took on Tik-Tok as popularity for dancing videos boom.

The trial is being rolled out India, Brazil, Germany and Australia.

It comes amid the apps growing popularity in India.

Instagram hopes this move will allow it to further compete with TikTok and see fans ‘move’ to the platform.
