Australia’s repatriation flights from India could double to six this month, as Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced three states are already offering to increase their intake.
Three jurisdictions, Queensland, NSW and Victoria, are open to receiving more flights from India. This comes after Australia controversially banned all citizens returning from India until the 15th of May.
The first three flights will land in the country’s northern territory, where passengers will quarantine at the purpose-built Howard Springs quarantine facility.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison will speak with his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi later today.
