A honeymoon in Australia’s northeast has ended in tragedy

A woman has died after an attempt to do a U-turn in a golf buggy went awfully wrong.

The newlywed husband was driving the buggy while his wife was in the passenger seat.

The Sydney couple had been married for only 10 days prior to the accident and were holidaying in Hamilton Island, Queensland.

The golf buggy i the main mode of transport in the Whitsundays, which can be unfamiliar to some tourists.

Police say the driver was not under the influence of alcohol and was not driving dangerously. They say it was a freak accident, which has ended in tragedy.
