Golf goes tech: Golf clubs inspired by airplane mechanics
Golf equipment provider Ping has partnered with Intel, Dell, and global IT company Altair Engineering to harness high-powered processing and complex modelling technologies to innovate the design of its golf clubs.
Ping admits all three companies help to execute advanced simulations and do computational fluid dynamics in the design of its clubs.
The golf club manufacturer’s says the ridges on the club head that help reduce drag is inspired by the mechanics of airplanes and semi-trucks.
