Two French patrol boats have now been deployed to Jersey

This follows Two UK royal navy vessels patrolling the same waters around Jersey

Following France threatening to cut off electricity to the island.

There are now concerns of a possible blockade by French boats over post-brexit fishing rights.

Fishermen claim their rights are being unfairly restricted and recently protested at Jersey’s port of St Helier.

HMS Severn has previously been used to shadow Russian navy warships off the English coast and HMS Tamar arrived near Jersey to patrol.

The ships are routinely used for fisheries protection.
