The mayor of the region has posted a message to Facebook today writing “there were armed visitors in the city council today.”

“We don’t have Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city, only civilians and people who want to LIVE here!”

he told troops.

He says Moscow’s forces have imposed a curfew from 8:00pm to 6:00am local time.

Cars with food, medicines and some other supplies will be allowed to enter the city, whilst cars within the city must drive at a “minimum” speed.

Pedestrians are also banned from moving in groups of more than two people.

Meanwhile, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby has just addressed the media, as the US aims to prove to the world it is a responsible nuclear power in the face of Russian aggression.

Russia intensifies attacks

As fighting in Ukraine enters its seventh day, Russia has begun intensifying its attacks on major Ukrainian cities.

As western sanctions intensify yet again, the owner of Russian oligarch, Chelsea FC, says he now has plans to sell his club.

Roman Abramovich says the net proceeds from the sale will go to a charitable foundation tasked with supporting victims of war in Ukraine.

ticker NEWS understands the Ukrainian city of Kherson has fallen to the Russian military.

The United Nations General Assembly has voted to deplore Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

The UN voted overwhelmingly in support of Ukraine, demanding Moscow stop the fighting and withdraw troops immediately.

The resolution was passed with 141 votes in favour and five against, with 35 absentee votes.

The five countries on Russia’s side included Russia itself, Belarus, Eritrea, North Korea and Syria while the abstentions included China and India.

US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield urged members to hold Moscow accountable for its violations of international law.

While General Assembly meetings and notes like this carry little legal weight, the action aims to diplomatically isolate Russia from the world.

Ukraine’s ambassador has since urged other member nations to sign his copy of the UN charter to demand Russia end the war in his country.
