An emergency UN General Assembly session will commence next week, amid the war in Ukraine

The emergency UN General assembly is an opportunity to introduce a new resolution to condemn Russia.

A senior U.S. official says the meeting will call out Russia’s violations of the UN charter during the war in Ukraine.

The new policy will also urge Putin to immediately withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine.

This meeting will be a chance for all UN member states to show their support for Ukraine, with the US watching closely to see who doesn’t.

To pass, it will need two thirds of yes votes from countries in the UN.
