Leaders of the European Union have warned Russia of ‘massive consequences’ if they are to invade Ukraine

The US raised concerns a few weeks ago about a potential military incursion into Ukraine at the start of next year with around 175,000 troops.

Russia’s government has been continuously denying the allegations.

The 27 EU leaders are set to meet next week to discuss the rising tension in Eastern Europe.

The European Commission’s President has spoken out earlier this week saying “the European Union and its G7 partners have made very clear, further aggressive acts against Ukraine will have massive costs for Russia”.
