With the Paris climate agreement aiming to keep global warming below 2 degrees, the directors of Shell are being sued for failing to prepare their company for net zero

The case against the multinational oil and gas heavyweight is the first of its kind, brought against the 13 directors by angry shareholders.

Shell wants to produce SAF in scale by 2025

The lawsuit claims the individuals are breaching obligations under the United Kingdom’s Companies Act.

If successful, Shell may be forced to completely redesign its net-zero strategy and align its business model to suit the Paris agreement.

The environmental law firm behind the movement is calling on further shareholders to join their case.
