Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the 2022 season, the team has confirmed in a statement.

Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the 2022 season, the team has confirmed in a statement.

The 33-year-old has struggled for his best form since joining the British-based team from Renault in 2021, with current teammate Lando Norris constantly outperforming him on race day.

Fellow Australian Oscar Piastri has been widely tipped to replace Ricciardo at McLaren for next year.

It has not yet been revealed where Ricciardo will end up, but he has been linked with a move to Alpine. 

However, Ricciardo would be welcome at American rock band Matchbox Twenty, as a clip was recently captured of him driving and singing along to one of their most famous songs.
