Curious minds flock to eruption in Iceland

Published

A bunch of curious people have flocked to a volcano erupting near Iceland’s capital

The bubbling lava was seen just outside the capital, near the site of another volcano that spewed magma for six months last year.

Nearly 2,000 people are gathering at the volcano as it erupts for the first time.

Lava fountains were around 10 to 15 metres high.

Iceland is no stranger to these events, the nation is known as the land of fire and ice.

It’s understood the country has had an eruption every five years on average.
