Criminal charges against Alec Baldwin over the fatal shooting on the set of his movie ‘Rust’ have been dropped.

The 65-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter over the shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set of the western movie.

He was using a prop pistol for a scene, but it fired a real bullet.

Baldwin’s maximum sentence had already been reduced from five years to 18 months in prison.

The star has always maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In a statement to The New York Post, Baldwin’s lawyers say: “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation.”

Filming is set to resume on the film this week in the state of Montana.
