Covid concern – Europe to face devastating winter

The World Health Organisation warns Europe may face a devastating winter as Covid cases continue to skyrocket

The WHO has sounded the alarm as vaccination rates remain frighteningly low in some countries and says more than half a million people could die from the virus if action is not taken.

Almost all of Europe is battling through a spike in infections… with Germany recording its highest daily increase since the pandemic began.

The WHO says “according to one reliable projection… if Europe stays on this trajectory, it could see another half a million COVID-19 deaths in Europe and Central Asia by the first of February next year”.

Meanwhile, the WHO’s European Director says the relaxation of Covid-19 measures and the lack of continent-wide vaccinations is fuelling the spike and nations need to act now.
