Clarence House is defending Prince Charles after reports surfaced the royal accepted a suitcase containing one million dollars in cash from a former Qatari politician

The Sunday Times says the suitcase was one of three lots received by the royal, totalling more than 3 million dollars.

Clarence House says the funds were provided as a charitable donation, and all of the correct processes were followed.

The House adds the donations were immediately passed to one of the Prince’s charities, who carried out all of the appropriate governance.

Meanwhile, a royal source says the Sunday Times report contains several mistakes, and lawyers are now involved.

But the publication alleges the payments were deposited into the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund, which supports his private projects as well as his country estate in Scotland.
