China slams U.S. for sailing through Taiwan Strait

China’s military condemns United States after a US military warship sailed through the Taiwan Strait route

United States Navy says the guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson conducted the Taiwan Strait transit as a part of its routine sailing mission in accordance with the international law.

While United States has been conducting these missions monthly, China says such sailings disturb peace and stability.

China views these missions as sign of support for Taiwan.

Taiwan is a democratic island that has tensions with it’s neighbor, China as the country views the island a part of its territory and plans to take over control.

In a written statement, the spokesperson for the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) says China is firmly opposed to United States’ actions.

“The United States has been carrying out provocative acts to send wrong signals to Taiwan Independence forces,” the statement reads.

U.S. 7th Fleet also released a statement saying the “United States military flies, sails, and operates anywhere international law allows”.

“The ship’s transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.”

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.
