China says it supports Russia in maintaining its national stability, but behind the scenes, you would imagine there’s some major concern.

Xi Jinping has been one of the only world leaders to show support to Putin.

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister held talks in Beijing on “international” issues immediately after the coup, no doubt to hose down some of China’s concerns.

On the outside, China says it respects Russia’s internal affairs, but inside closed doors, Beijing will be seeking assurances that Putin is still in command.
