World champion boxer Amir Khan has allegedly been robbed at gunpoint in London while walking with his wife

Amir Khan was walking with his wife when two men stopped him at gunpoint when he was walking with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom.

The 35-year-old boxer was forced to give us his Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph watch to the thieves valued at $126,000.

“Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton, two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whilst having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.”

Met Police have released a formal statement about the incident, with no reports of gunfire or injuries.

An investigation has now been launched, and police are following a number of leads. There have been no arrests made so far.

However, the incident has left both Khan and his wife extremely shaken up. 

“Police were called at 2115 on Monday, April 18 to High Road, Leyton. A man aged in his 30s is alleged to have been approached by two males who threatened him with a firearm before stealing his watch and fleeing. There were no reports of any shots fired or any injuries.

“Police responded and conducted an area search. At this very early stage there have been no arrests. An investigation has begun and police are following a number of enquiries.”
