Actor Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia

His family confirmed the news on social media, saying it is “a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis”.

Last year, Willis was diagnosed with Aphasia – which causes difficulties with speech.

This has now progressed, leading to a more specific prognosis.

The family has expressed their “deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love”.

They went onto say this particular type of dementia is the most common form in people under 60.

Willis is 57.

There are no treatments for the disease, and the family hopes this is a reality they can change in the years ahead.
