Parties at Downing Street and the education department between the 27th November and the 18th of December will be the focus of the examination to see if any Covid rules were broken.

The British Paymaster General says any criminal activity uncovered may be reported to police.

This comes as the opposition Labour party calls for Prime Minister Boris Johnson to resign if it is found that he has misled MPs about the alleged parties.

Johnson announced on Wednesday that the inquiry will be carried out by top civil servant, Simon Case.

The alleged parties were brought to the world’s attention after video emerged of government staff joking about an event that took place at Downing Street… a day on which more than 400 Covid deaths were reported.
