COP26: Jeff Bezos to spend $2BN on restoration

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has pledged to give $2 billion to restore landscapes and restore food systems right around the globe

Speaking at the COP-26 climate event, Bezos says he was blown away by how fragile nature is when he travelled into space earlier this year.

This follows entrepreneurs and billionaires including Bezos and Elon Musk being criticised recently for spending huge amounts of money on creating commercial space travel when the world is in crisis.

The Amazon founder says “in too many parts of the world, nature is already flipping from a carbon sink to a carbon source.”

Meanwhile, the Bezos Earth Fund will spend $10 billion in total to fight climate change and reduce global warming.

When travelling into space, the billionaire says the lens from which he views the world was flipped on its head.
