Gone are the days of identical barbies sitting pretty in pink, the toy shelves are getting a well deserved makeover

A new historic line-up of barbie dolls is set to be released, including the first doll with hearing aids.

Mattel, the maker of Barbie, wants to focus on the issues of inclusion and diversity.

The new line will even feature a Ken doll with a skin disorder that causes loss of pigment cells.

This Barbie comes with a pink hearing device, while other dolls from the same line are manufactured reflecting a variety of conditions.

An audiologist and hearing loss advocate collaborated with the toy maker to accurately create the hearing device.

This new line is also an extension of this attempt of breaking the traditional outlook and reflect the real world.
