Australia Post set for shake-up

Australia Post is set to be shaken up, after a slump in its letter business division, while parcel services are booming

The Australian Federal Government will launch a review of the postal service.

Australia Post reported a first-half loss in its letter business, and now the company is set to report a full-year loss for the first time since 2015.

This is due to posties delivering fewer letters than at their peak 15 years ago, and the average household expected to receive less than one letter per week by 2032.

The government insists the postal service will remain under public ownership.
