Alec Baldwin and other Rust producers facing new lawsuit

Published

on

Following the fatal shooting on the set of the Rust film, Alec Baldwin and other producers are now facing a new lawsuit

Rust’s script supervisor filed the lawsuit on Wednesday denying that the script ever involved the need for Baldwin to fire the shot that killed the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

She says the actor “chose to play Russian roulette with a loaded gun without checking it and without having the armorer do so.

His behaviour and that of the producers were intentional acts and/or omissions, without any just cause or excuse and with utter disregard of the consequences”.

The script supervisor says he was standing less than 4 feet away from Baldwin when the incident occurred and has “sustained serious physical trauma and shock and injury”.

The other people accused include the film’s armorer, the assistant director and several production companies.

The new development comes only a week after Rust’s head of lighting filed a lawsuit against Baldwin and others for negligence that resulted in him suffering from “severe emotional distress”.

Some attorneys have suggested the possibility of the film being sabotaged but district attorney investigating the incident rejects the conspiracy theories.

Despite the recent intake of Hollywood productions down under such as ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, Aussie independents are still finding the space to carve their own creative path.

American home prices are rising at faster pace now than in the last 20-years.

A recent analysis reveals a jaw dropping surge in the cost of American homes.

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.

Tom Hutchens, the Executive Vice President of Production at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
