Top leaders at Starbucks have been sued because of the company’s efforts to promote diversity

A conservative think tank believes the coffee chain’s diversity policies are leading to racial discrimination in the workplace.

The “National Center for Public Policy Research” says by hiring black workers, and people of colour, it is leading to race-based decisions.

Thirty-five current and former executives and directors at the company are forming part of the defence.

Starbucks is on a mission to have 40 per cent of its U.S. retail staff identify as Black, indigenous people or persons of colour by 2025.
