A jury has awarded $31 millions in damages in a lawsuit over Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash photos

The jury found the LA County violated the constitutional rights of Vanessa Bryant and Christopher Chester, who both lost a spouse and a daughter.

Bryant will receive $16 million and Chester will be awarded the remaining $15 million.

The federal case launched after Sheriff’s captured “gruesome” photos from the scene, then shared them unlawfully at a bar, and at an awards ceremony.

Bryant’s Attorney says the actions were “reckless and inhumane and caused emotional distress.”

The Attorney says just because they “wear a badge” gives them no right to share photos of a dismembered body.

As the jury deliberated, Vanessa sobbed, with her family by her side.

The verdict comes days after Kobe Bryant’s family celebrated what would have been his 44th birthday.
