Taiwan’s Air Force has scrambled to ward off 27 Chinese aircraft entering its air defence zone

It’s the latest case of “grey zone” warfare across the Taiwan Strait.

The Chinese-claimed territory has complained for more than a year about Beijing conducting repeated missions near the island.

The democratically-governed nation believes the warfare is designed to wear out their forces by making them repeatedly scramble, and also to test its response.

In this latest instance, Taiwan sent combat aircraft to warn the Chinese aircraft, while missile systems were deployed to monitor them.
