Jacob Chansley known to be the so-called ‘QAnon Shaman’ who played a big role in the January 6 Capitol riots has been jailed for 41 months

The Justice Department pushed for a harsh sentence in a bid to send a clear message and set an example among rioters.

Chansley has become an infamous figure after multiple photos were posted online of him wearing paint and a headdress inside the Senate chamber.

The trial’s judge has held the guilty individual in jail since his arrest despite multiple attempts to gain sympathy and subsequent release.

This case is one of the first and judges will likely look at the sentence as a benchmark for the 660 other rioters who have also been charged.

Video footage of Chansley was relied on heavily throughout the trial.

Meanwhile, in her remarks, the lead prosecutor said Chansley “posted messages on social media, encouraging his thousands of followers to expose corrupt politicians and end the so-called deep state”.. and this in itself “was a call to battle”.
