Roadmap revealed – Sydney’s ‘major changes’ out of COVID-19

Premier of New South Wales, Dominic Perrottet has just addressed media to outline changes to Covid-19 restrictions as the state meets key vaccination targets and begins to move out of lockdown

On Wednesday, NSW became the first Australian state to fully vaccinate 70 per cent of its population aged 16 and above against COVID-19.

NSW newly appointed Premier Dominic Perrottet, announced some “major changes” to the NSW roadmap out of COVID-19 lockdown.

What’s changed?

Dates have been changed for several settings, with residents preparing for freedom on Monday.

Children will return to classrooms from October 25, with caps lifted from 50 to 100 on weddings and funerals from next week.

This all comes as the state surpassed the 70 percent double vaccination target.

From Monday, 10 adults will be allowed to gather in private residences.

Come the 80 percent double vax target, face masks will not be required in office buildings, 20 adults will be allowed to gather in homes and 50 people can gather outdoors.

Meanwhile, crowds at major events will also increase from 500 to 3000 in an attempt to re-start the struggling sector.

Trump claims Iran’s military largely neutralized; tensions rise with attacks threatening air travel and oil shipping.

President Trump says Iran’s military capability has been largely neutralised, including its navy and air force, as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Iranian attacks have threatened commercial air travel and oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of wider economic fallout.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has faced two attacks, while Gulf states worked to intercept further Iranian strikes. Officials report six U.S. troops killed and more than 700 deaths inside Iran as the exchange of fire escalates.

With global markets watching closely, the region remains on edge as military and diplomatic tensions show no signs of easing.
