300 people injured as concerns grow that some in the crowd were drugged

Tributes are flowing for those who died following a stampede at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas.

At least 8 were killed and hundreds injured at the event as police continue their investigation into the cause.

Scott says he has been working to help the families of “the ones that were lost”.

Many of the victims were young, with the youngest casualty just 14 years of age…

Meanwhile, the family of one 16-year-old victim, Brianna Rodriguez says their loved one is “dancing her way to heaven’s pearly gates”.

This follows reports of an Astroworld security officer saying he felt a “prick” in his neck as police investigate whether someone in the crowd had been injecting partygoers with drugs.

The surge began at about 9:15 P-M on Friday, when panic unfolded at the festival and the crowd pressed forward, crushing hundreds.

Around 300 people were treated for injuries such as cuts and bruises.

This comes as a Harris County Judge calls for an independent investigation into the incident.
