There are reports of an active shooter situation at Six Flags Great American amusement park in Gurnee, Illinois within the northern Chicago metropolitan area
We’re hearing reports that there are multiple victims so far.
Gurney police, fire and paramedics responded to the incident at around 7.50 pm on Sunday.
Police say the scene is now safe and paramedics have been able to reach the victims.
It’s believed one victim was shot while swimming in the wave pool.
People at the park are taking to social media to show what they’re witnessing.
Many of the videos show people desperately scrambling for safety with a large police presence now at the location escorting park-goers.
