Why the U.S. is failing to curb its Monkeypox outbreak

Published

The U.S. has reported more than 13,500 Monkeypox cases as of August 18, representing more than a third of total infections globally

The nation is leading the world in total cases, as criticism grows around the Biden administration’s inability to curb the spread.

The rise in infections comes despite advanced warning from health authorities, vaccines AND the knowledge acquired from living through a global pandemic.

But these regions are seeing case numbers plateau, while the U.S. is seeing a continued spike.

The director of America’s Centre for Disease Control says there are steps individuals can take to protect themselves right now.
