Why Elon Musk subpoenaed former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

It’s been revealed Elon Musk has subpoenaed former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, as part of his decision to back out of the 44 billion dollar takeover bid

Musk and Twitter are currently in the middle of a high-stakes legal dispute after the Tesla boss offered to buy the social media giant, but then walked away.

Musk claims Twitter failed to provide him with relevant information surrounding the true number of ‘spam bot’ or fake accounts the platform has.

But the social media company rejects this, alleging Musk’s reasoning is just an excuse for buyer’s remorse.

The two parties are heading to court in Delaware in October, in a trial which determine whether or not the acquisition goes ahead.

Meanwhile, Twitter has also subpoenaed a whole host of people connected to Musk, including the prominent venture capitalist Marc Andreessen and Paypal’s David Sacks.
