What will happen to the $625M digital coin theft?

The crypto world has been shaken after hackers stole over US 600 million from a blockchain connected to an online game

But now the attack has happened – will the world ever see the digital coin assets again?

Experts told CoinDesk that it’s actually unlikely the attacker, or attackers, will ever be able to use the stolen crypto.

625 million was drained from Ronin, a blockchain that is home to a popular infinity play-to-earn game.

Following the attack, some analysts noticed the hacker used centralised exchanges which were used to address that launched the attack.

Due to clever customer verification systems, the deposits could be used to discover the hacker’s identity, and potentially make them return the stolen loot.

Many say the attacker’s method of trying to launder funds through centralised exchanges as unusual.

The hack was the second biggest in the world’s history.
