Boris Johnson has rejected claims the crisis on Ukraine’s border has de-escalated, warning the stakes remain very high

The UK Prime Minister says the European Union is facing “the most dangerous moment” in its “biggest security crisis in decades”.

Many experts and Western officials are concerned the confrontation on Ukraine’s border is getting worse, as further troops are deployed towards eastern Europe.

Further intelligence is also coming to light regarding Russia’s intentions, with the greater spread of disinformation and increasing threats of cyber attacks.

Johnson is visiting Poland in an attempt to show support for his country’s NATO allies.

While the PM doesn’t believe Moscow has made a decision over whether to invade or no, he says Britain’s intelligence “remains grim”

As diplomatic activity surges across eastern Europe, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has also met with her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.

Following the meeting, Lavrov says the talks had been “disappointing” adding “it’s like we’re listening but not hearing each other”.

Lavrov warns relations between the UK and Russia are at the “lowest point over the past few years” leaving “much to be desired”.
