Chaos continues to engulf airports right across the United Kingdom, as hundreds of angry holidaymakers have their trips cancelled

Gatwick, Bristol and Manchester airports are among the worst affected, with Bristol’s terminal labelled a “zoo” by travellers hit with eight hour delays.

It’s the second day of airport chaos throughout the country, with staffing shortages largely to blame.

EasyJet says it will cancel more than 200 flights over the next ten days, affecting 24 flights a day from London’s Gatwick airport up until June 6.

Customers are being provided with the option to rebook their flight or receive a refund in line with regulations.

An EasyJet spokesperson says the cancellations are necessary to provide reliable services over this busy period.

In fact, Friday saw the highest number of scheduled departures since March 20-20 when the pandemic first began.

A key aviation union is blaming airlines and airports for laying off employees during Covid and paying low wages.
