Uber has blamed a recent cyber attack on a well known hacking-group dubbed “Lapsus$”
The internal breach forced the ride-hailing giant offline last week, causing widespread chaos.
It’s believed the 18 year old hacker tricked an employee to gain access to important data.
The entire hack was dubbed a “total compromise” by one researcher, email, cloud storage, and code repositories have already been sent to security firms and The New York Times by the perpetrator.
Further investigations are now underway.
