U.S. top Judge John Roberts has sided with Donald Trump, in halting the push to have his tax returns released

U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts has temporarily blocked a U.S. House of Representatives Committee from gaining access to Donald Trump’s tax returns.

The order from the chief justice maintains the status quo, while the Supreme Court addresses Trump’s request, to block a lower court ruling that upheld the House panel’s request for the tax materials.

Roberts has ordered the Committee to respond to Trump’s bid by November 10.

Its a fight that has lingered since 20-19 when the committee sued Trump in a desperate bid to show his taxes.

At the time, Trump was the first U.S. President to not release his tax returns in four decades.

He says it’s a secret because of his wealth and other issues relating to his company.
