A new report by the U.S Holocaust Museum says China’s treatment of Uighur’s may be genocide

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has released a report detailing evidence of increasing government repression against Uighur Muslims in China’s western Xinjiang region.

It says that the world must act quickly to stop the atrocities, and details “the Museum’s grave concern that the Chinese government may be committing genocide” against the Uighurs.

The 56-page report blames the Chinese Government for the ongoing situation.

The report details Beijing’s policies towards Uighurs, which include allegations of forced sterilisation, sexual violence, enslavement, torture and forcible transfer.

But China’s Ambassador to the UN says critics of spreading “groundless accusations” and unfounded “lies”.
