Biden Administration is ramping up troop presence in Taiwan for training against China

The U.S. is increasing the number of troops deployed to Taiwan as the Pentagon prepares to help the island-nation focus on tactics and weapon systems that would increase security and make the island harder to assault.

The move comes on the heels of China and Russia showcasing their close ties on the world stage in Europe.

In the coming months, the U.S. says it plans to deploy between 100 and 200 additional troops to the island marking the largest deployment of forces in decades in an effort to counter China’s growing military power.

The expanded training both in the U.S. and in Taiwan aims to counter a possible invasion by China.
